Finland rewards travellers who want room to think. Short distances, quiet roads and nature that begins where the town ends.
One of Europe's least crowded countries. Even in peak summer you can find a lake shore with nobody else on it.
Finland's lake district is a landscape of water, islands and pine — best explored slowly, by car, boat or bike.
Excellent roads, clean tap water, widely spoken English and simple, reliable logistics for independent travellers.
Sauna here is everyday life, not a spa product. A lakeside sauna followed by a swim is the local definition of luxury.
In June and July the light barely leaves. Evenings stretch on and on, which changes how a holiday feels.
National parks, marked trails and free-to-roam forests sit minutes from most towns, including the capital.
Summer in Finland is a different kind of holiday. Comfortable temperatures, room to move and days that stay bright long after dinner.
Five starting points, each built around a different reason to travel. Use them as inspiration — we will adapt any of them to you.
7-9 days · June - August
A self-drive loop through the Lakeland, threading between glassy lakes, pine ridges and small towns. Expect ferries, bridges, lakeside cafés and long, unhurried days behind the wheel, with a sauna waiting at the end of most of them.

Build your trip around what you actually enjoy.
A wooden cottage with its own jetty and sauna, a rowing boat and a shoreline that belongs to you for the week. The heart of the Finnish summer.
Traditional wood-heated saunas, public city saunas and smoke saunas — followed by a lake swim and a very good night's sleep.
Marked trails, duckboard paths and simple shelters, from gentle family loops to multi-day routes through forest, bog and ridge landscapes.
Market halls, berry and mushroom season, lakeside fish, rye bread, small-town cafés and summer festivals in unlikely places.
Swimming beaches, easy trails, farm visits, science centres and rainy-day options that keep everyone in a good mood.
Quiet roads, short distances between highlights, and the freedom to stop at a lake, a bakery or a viewpoint whenever you want.
Design, sea fortresses, island ferries, wooden old towns and an archipelago that begins minutes from the city centre.
Snow, husky and reindeer country, aurora nights and the polar day. Wonderful — and not the only reason to come to Finland.
